Marriage in Special Situations
Special attention and preparation would be needed in one of the following situations below:​

1. Marriage between a Filipino and a Foreign National:

Marriage between Foreign Nationals

Marriage between Philippine-based individuals and Permanent Residents or Immigrants Abroad

Marriage between Philippine-based individuals and OFW
​2. Working Abroad (irrespective of the duration spent abroad, provided the OFW is employed or intends to work abroad and plans to migrate or establish a family there)

Overseas Seafarers (excluding those working on Philippine inter-island routes)
-
Overseas Flight Attendants (excluding those working on Philippine inter-island routes)
3. Mixed Marriage:

Roman Catholic and Non-Roman Catholic
-
Roman Catholic and No Religion
-
Roman Catholic and Muslim
-

4. Marriage involving individuals with Previous Marriages:
-
Annulled Civilly
-
With the Church Declaration of Nullity
-
Divorcee

5. Marriage to be solemnized in the Roman Catholic Church Abroad:

Issuance of Certification of Freedom to Marry or Certification of No Impediment, or assistance in establishing freedom to marry
-
Nihil Obstat / Visum Est
-
Dispensation from Lack of Canonical Form for residents of Quezon City South, within the territorial boundaries of the Diocese of Cubao (requirements apply to couples with previous civil nullity of marriage).

Here are the steps being followed for above situations:

The applicant's desire to marry in the Church is evaluated at the parish where the marriage will take place, and the Marriage Basic Questionnaire is provided.

If their case requires marriage clearance, a decree, or dispensation from the Bishop of Cubao, they will be guided through the process.

The parish secretary will provide the necessary requirements.

The Banns will be published.
-
A Canonical Interview will be conducted.
-
The couple will attend the MOS or Pre-Cana Seminar.

Upon completion of these requirements and processes, the couple will be endorsed to the Diocese of Cubao for the issuance of marriage clearance, decree, or dispensation.
