One Heart, One Mission: Sacred Heart Parish-Shrine Celebrates 85 Years as a Parish and 10 Years as a Shrine

The community of Sacred Heart Parish–Shrine warmly invites everyone to join the celebration of Fiesta 2026 with the theme “One Heart, One Mission.”

This year’s fiesta forms part of the parish’s year-long celebration of its 85th Foundation Anniversary as a Parish and its 10th Year as a Diocesan Shrine.

Sacred Heart Parish traces its beginnings to the first Christmas Eve Mass celebrated in the area where the Kamuning Market now stands on December 24, 1940, by Fr. Hermann Kondring, SVD. The parish was formally established on October 3, 1941 through the missionary work of the Society of the Divine Word (SVD). In 2016, Bishop Honesto Ongtioco declared the parish a diocesan shrine, further strengthening its role as an important center of devotion to the Sacred Heart in the Diocese of Cubao.

Since its establishment, Sacred Heart Parish has continued its mission of evangelization and pastoral care among the communities of Barangay Sacred Heart, Barangay Kamuning, Barangay South Triangle, and part of Barangay Obrero.

The fiesta celebration will include novena masses, outreach activities, youth programs, sports events, fellowship gatherings, and community celebrations from June 3 to 14, 2026.
